Settling In

So I've already lived here for almost a month now. I am feeling very well acclimated. My first anatomy exam, cadaver practical, and palpation/osteology practical were all this past Friday. Phew. I'm glad that's over. But I felt pretty good about it, hopefully all of my studying paid off! So I actually had a bit of a break this weekend from studying.

On Friday night, about half of the DPT 1's all got together to celebrate making it through the first test. It was lots of fun, a bit rough the next morning though. But on Saturday I went with some of my fellow DPT 1's to Rehoboth Beach, DE. The closest beach to us in Newark is only about 1 hr. and 45 min.... alot closer than I was in Clemson, but not quite as close to being at home. But it was still good none the less. The beaches are quite different up here though. Everyone... and I mean everyone has an umbrella which is sooo annoying. Literally if you looked down the beach all you saw was wall to wall umbrellas on a very narrow beach. Oh and the water up here is absolutely freezing! It made me miss my beach back home.

I've been learning my way around this town pretty well I think. I went to a farmer's market here in Newark this afternoon, and I got some absolutely delectably delicious blackberries! They are probably some of the best blackberries I've ever had in my entire life. I can't wait to eat them with some vanilla ice cream tonight! Oh and one thing that does irk me about living up here is that I can't get BlueBell ice cream :( They don't distribute it to any of the states up in this area of the country.... yes I already did my research on this. Oh and something else that was interesting... I studied in UD's library this week. And it was sooooo quiet... you could hear a pin drop. It was so opposite from Cooper, definitely not a social place. Maybe it'll be different once all the undergrads come back, but I kinda don't think so. I do miss Cooper.
This is a pic of UD's main part of campus ("the green"). The library is on the far left side of this pic a little bit above the bottom left corner. And my building McKinly didn't quite make it into this picture, but it would be right behind the building in the top right corner. I just thought this was kind of a cool picture of the campus that I found online.

But for real, I am really loving it here. I feel like it is a perfect fit. I really like most of my classmates.... I mean duh there are going to be some weirdos that's just a given. I'm starting to find my group of friends here (Kel I said "friends" not "best friends") a girl from FL and a couple guys from DE. There are several others too but I feel like these 3 will probably be the people I hang out with the most/have the most in common with. It's weird to have to start all over making new friends again, but it's kind of exciting all at the same time. A nice addition to the wonderful friends that I already have in my life. I am truly blessed.

A Fresh Start

So I've officially lived in Delaware for exactly one week. I've been a legit PT student for 3 days, and so far so good. Except all my life basically consists of is studying anatomy. Oh well. And I'll let you know how I feel after the first 6-hour test we have in a couple weeks ahhh! But anyways here are the pictures of my new apartment as promised... (and Kelly please take note of the hippo picture in the bathroom... and Corey I took many different pics so you can get a panorama view of the place!)
