Plans

God had planned something better for us, so that only together with us would they be made perfect.
- Hebrews 11:40 -

This verse pretty much sums up my life at the moment. Oh and this week I should be able to start coordinating my living situation with my future classmates/roommates. I've been waiting so long for this. I'll be glad to finally know where I'll be and who I'll be living with.

39 days til graduation.

Nashville Nashville Nashville

So I began my Spring Break by spending a nice long weekend in Nashville with my very best friend in the entire world, Melissa. And not to forget that I also got to hang out with Eric, Jess, Dane, and Tegan which makes it even more wonderful! Whenever Melissa and I get together there a few givens that we will always find ourselves doing: cooking, shopping, and drinking some kind of fancy cocktail. And these were all definitely included in this past weekend. Thursday night was spent just relaxing at home with Melissa and Eric watching a couple episodes of The Office. And we even got to end our evening with a lovely skype with Jimmy.

On Friday Melissa and I met Eric at Chipotle for lunch. One of my all time favorite Mexican places....only after Fiesta Fresh of course. We also took takeout from Chipotle to Jess and Dane (and Tegan) to their office so they could also have some excellent tasting food. I would have to say that these two are my favorite married couple! I love them! Melissa and I then went to J.Crew to do a little damage to my collection of giftcards from Christmas and my birthday. The trip ended with me being offered a job at the Nashville J.Crew store by the employee checking me out at the register. Success. Need I say more?! We next made our way to Starbucks to say "Hi" to Melissa's friend Sarah in the drive-thru, and we even ended up taking home some free lattes! Nice! We went back to Dane and Jess' house to hang out that evening enjoying pizza, a movie, and conversation.

Saturday I went to lunch with Eric at "Fido" while Melissa supposedly was going to work on her Bio homework (aka take a nap). Eric and I ate some delicious local burgers that were made with lamb and beef, topped with caramelized fennel, feta, and some kind of aioli. So delicious and fresh! After lunch, Eric and I went back to his apartment to see Melissa and save her from her homework. Later that night Melissa, Eric, Sarah, and I went to "The Patterson House." This bar looks like just an unassuming house in downtown Nashville, but when you step inside you find a very secret, small, and private bar. It is rumored to have been a "speakeasy" bar back during the prohibition days. Although we did wait an hour to get a table at ten o'clock at night, it was worth it. The bookshelf covered walls, dim lights, black leather booths, chandeliers, and drinks made with fresh ingredients....it was a magical place.

And then Sunday Melissa, Eric, and I made breakfast which included eggs and hashbrowns. It turns out that frozen hashbrowns are harder to make then they appear, but thank goodness Eric was able to salvage them! After enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon walking Tegan in the park, Melissa and I decided to make homemade potato leek soup in bread bowls for dinner. And man was it delicious! Mmmmm! So all in all it was a fabulous trip like always! I hope that we'll still get to make these trips even as we both head in to grad school now...

March Madness

I'm thrilled to be entering this month of March, even if it's starting off with snow tomorrow, then 65 this weekend...what?! Thank you upstate SC for having ridiculous weather. This weekend Lauren is coming back in town to visit/collect the rest of her furniture so what does that mean you ask?! PARTY! And to top off this weekend, it's also Alex's 22nd birthday! Also to come this month, Nashville in just ten days to spend time with two of my favorite people on the planet. Can't wait for that. We are even going to this secret swanky bar... so perfect. So that's the first half of my spring break. The other half will be spent on the beach at home with Jess. We are crossing our fingers that the weather will be warm enough. Also coming at the end of March I will have finished my internship! As of today, only 60 more hours to go. April is going to be a breeze. Finally, the official graduation countdown is only 66 more days. Whoa. So yes....March madness fo sho.
